Barney Miller Theme (Bass)

This was one of my favorite t.v. shows. I LOVED and still love the bass riff! It makes the music! I loved the guys just sittin' around jawin' and the whole feel of the show. If I could have been a bass player...I'd have been happy as a clam! Every now and then, I just have to "cut loose" and go where my meandering loose mind takes me.

Give Peas a Chance, (they may not be broccoli but they're peasful and more compact...)

Speaking of peas, that reminds me of a little poem my Grandpa used to tell me at dinner, when peas would appear on my plate and I'd get that feeling that The Beaver had with Brussels Sprouts. I had trouble swallowing them when I was little...they gagged me, but oddly, I love 'em now. Anyway, Gramps would remove his napkin from his silver napkin ring (linen napkins....that was the way it was at Grandmas) and he'd nod at me and say: "I eat my peas with honey, I've done it all my life...it makes the peas taste funny... but it keeps 'em on my knife." And I'd laugh and it's funny but after our little "joke" - the peas wouldn't gag me. There's got to be some deep lurking theological segue here, but I'll be darned if I can come up with it. TJ, help me out, bro!

I never cared for the show, but the theme music is so deliciously primal.

Deliciously primal...that's the best description I've ever heard re: a tune.

Thanks for popping in, John. God bless you.

if we view peas as suffering purpose, it is attempting to sweeten the pain in our lifes? :)

Oh who knows, but it must be a nice memory of yours to have.
