What: | Guy Sebastian and Paulini will headline a welcome celebration in Darling Harbour to mark the arrival in Australia of the World Youth Day Cross on Sunday 1 July. Thousands are expected to attend the free event in Darling Harbour next month where Guy and Paulini will perform his WYD 2008 anthem Receive The Power for the first time. The event will celebrate the arrival in Australia of the WYD Cross and an Icon of Our Lady, the international symbols of World Youth Day. The Cross and Icon will begin a 12 month journey around the country as Australia counts down to the hosting of the world�s largest youth event in Sydney from 15 � 20 July 2008. Heralded as the �Olympic torch� of World Youth Day, the 3.8m high, 40 kilogram Cross and Icon have travelled throughout the world, most recently through Asia and Oceania on their journey to Australia. From 1 July, young Australians will take the Cross and Icon around Australia to more than 400 communities, including some of the country�s most significant, historic and beautiful locations. |
