From our Archbishop . . .

AN INVITATION FROM ARCHBISHOP ELDEN CURTISS

My Friend in the Lord,

His Holiness Pope John Paul II reminds us that "without priests the Church would not be able to live that fundamental obedience which is at the very heart of her existence and her mission in history, an obedience in response to the command of Christ: 'Go therefore and make disciples of all nations' (Mt. 28:19) and 'Do this in remembrance of me' (Lk. 22:19; cf. 1 Cor. 11:24)" (Pastores Dabo Vobis, n. 1). The role of the priest is therefore essential to the life of the Church!

Here in the Archdiocese of Omaha we have an ever growing number of dedicated seminarians who are answering Christ's call to serve His Church as a priest. These are young men who have a tremendous desire to continue the apostolic ministry of presiding at the Eucharist, preaching the Word of God and ministering to our people. They wish to offer their lives in service to Christ and His Church.

Perhaps you are being called to share in the sacramental priesthood of Jesus Christ. He may very well be calling you to share intimately in His life and ministry as a priest. May God bless you as you discern His will in your life.

I am sincerely yours in the Lord,

Most Reverend Elden Francis Curtiss

Archbishop of Omaha

We sure will pray, TJ. AND DO PRAY TO MY "GO TO GUY" Father Kevin. He is a powerful intercessor in Heaven...a dear priest who is still being a priest and bringing people to Christ. He'll storm heaven for your diocese, I know he will!

Father Kevin pray for us.
