Stop Pro-Abortion Nominee Kathleen Sebelius
March 2, 2009
Once again, in stark contrast to his campaign pledge to "find common ground" on abortion, President Obama has nominated a cabinet official with an extreme pro-abortion record.Today, President Obama nominated Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services. If Governor Sebelius is confirmed by the Senate she will wield tremendous influence over the American healthcare system including federal and state policies regarding abortion, healthcare rights of conscience, and bioethical issues like embryonic stem cell research. Please write to your Senators today and tell them that you oppose Governor Sebelius' confirmation because of her extreme positions on abortion. While Governor of Kansas, Sebelius vetoed a bill, which would have placed much needed restrictions on late term abortions, restrictions that a majority of Americans support. A year before this veto, Sebelius honored notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller and his staff in the Governor's Mansion. The state was not reimbursed for the cost of this political event for over a year. Tiller is currently charged with 19 counts of performing illegal late-term abortions, and his trial begins this month. With a record like this how can we trust Governor Sebelius to oversee the regulation of abortion and the national health care system? Tell your Senators about Governor Sebelius' extreme pro-abortion record today. Tell them to stand up for Life and oppose Kathleen Sebelius' nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
