Addiction, including addiction to lust, is Satan's favorite tool because it breaks human's survival instinct. The addiction, whether unchaste eyes, or substance, becomes the most important biological and spiritual wiring in the body and mind. It then shuts off both the physical survival instinct (because only the addiction matters) and the spiritual survival, because the person no longer believes or cares about his soul and heaven and hell.
